  • What else can a Speech Language Pathologist do?

    Speech Language Pathologists can work with ANY age. Below are examples of things SLPs can do: 

    Augmentative & Alternative Communication, Dysarthria, Reading/Writing, Orofacial Myofunctional Disorders, Cleft Lip/Palate, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Social Communication, Feeding & Swallowing, Articulation, Feeding and swallowing, Play Skills, Behavior Management, Reading Comprehension, Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing, Apraxia of Speech, Stroke, Accent Modification, Dysphagia, Receptive/Expressive Language, Stuttering, Dyslexia, and more!! 


  • Do we accept insurance?

    FAME Speech and Myo does not currently accept insurance. However we do accept FSA and we are a provider for the Step Up for Students Scholrship. 

  • Who provides speech/language therapy?

    Speech Language Pathologists, often called Speech therapists or SLPs, provide therapy services to assess and treat 

  • Who provides orofacial myofunctional therapy?

    A speech langauge pathologist 

    a dentist

    an orthodontist; and/or 

    a doctor

    -All should have training working with orofacial myofunctional disorders. 

  • What does my pediatrician mean when they say articulation?

    Your pediatrician is talking about the way your child says their sounds. Your child may have difficulty executing the speech movements needed, which can cause unintelligible speech. 

  • What is stuttering? Fluency disorder?

    Stuttering is the chronic interruptions in the rhythm, flow, or fluency of speech. The disfluencies are caused from tightness and tension. Sometimes secondary characteristics can also accompany whole-word repetitions, part-word repetitions, sound prolongations, and blocks.  For more information, talk to your SLP.

Speech Language Pathologist

Alexa Stubenrauch is a Florida licensed SLP who earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology with a minor in Art from Clarion University of Pennsylvania, and a Master of Science Degree in Communication Disorders from Clarion University as well. She holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association and has completed training in Lindamood-Bell Seeing Stars reading program, Feed the Peds, and Tethered Oral Tissue Training.  She has additionally completed the  Neo-Health Services (NHS) 28 hour course for Orofacial Myology.  She is in pursuit of her QOM (Qualified Orofacial Myologist) The populations she has experience with include ages 1-21 and the disorders: articulation, receptive/expressive language, fluency/stuttering, intellectually disabled, pragmatic/social skills language, ASD, and many more. She also has extensive experience writing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and is committed to using her background and experience to assist parents in the clinical setting as well as at school and at home. When she’s not providing speech and language services, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, reading, exercising, and traveling when she can.
