  • Do we accept insurance?

    FAME Speech and Myo does not currently accept insurance. However, we do accept FSA and we are a provider for the Step Up for Students Scholarship. 

  • How do I get started?

    First, book a complimentary discovery call to determine if this is a good fit for you. This is a great time to ask any more questions as well as get scheduled for an in-person evaluation. You can also email info@famespeechandmyo.com for additional support.  

  • Who provides orofacial myofunctional therapy?

    A speech langauge pathologist 

    a dentist

    an orthodontist; and/or 

    a doctor

    -All should have training working with orofacial myofunctional disorders. 

  • How much does it cost?

    Prices vary based on the duration of the session. It's a valuable investment in your well-being, and there are options to fit different needs and budgets such as the Step Up for Students Scholarship, HSA, and more. It's best to contact local providers for specific pricing information.

  • My child won't stop sucking their thumb. Can you help?

    Yes. Thumb sucking and pacifier elimination are both important areas to address in conjunction to myofunctional therapy. FAME uses a unique program to support children and families in habit elimination. 

  • How long does therapy take?

    Therapy length is very dependent on compliance and severity. Usually, it takes around 8-12 sessions, but it can take longer or shorter. It is best to talk to your therapist about your specific needs. 

  • What ages are appropriate for myofunctional therapy?

    Myofunctional therapy is usually appropriate for individuals aged 5 and older, including adults.  It's never to late to make a change. To effectively engage in therapy, individuals should be capable of following instructions, possessing body awareness, and demonstrating the maturity necessary to complete therapy tasks.

Speech Language Pathologist

Alexa Stubenrauch is a Florida licensed SLP who earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology with a minor in Art from Clarion University of Pennsylvania, and a Master of Science Degree in Communication Disorders from Clarion University as well. She holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association and has completed training in Lindamood-Bell Seeing Stars reading program, Feed the Peds, STONES Orofacial Myology Advanced Course, The Myo Method, and Tethered Oral Tissue Training.  She has additionally completed the  Neo-Health Services (NHS) 28 hour course for Orofacial Myology.  She holds her QOM (Qualified Orofacial Myologist). She has experience with all ages and various disorders: articulation, receptive/expressive language, fluency/stuttering, intellectually disabled, pragmatic/social skills language, and many more. She also has extensive experience writing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and is committed to using her background and experience to assist parents in the clinical setting as well as at school and at home. When she’s not providing speech and language services, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, reading, exercising, and traveling when she can.
